Can I replace a withdrawn factoring facility?

Yes. A bank leaving factoring does not mean your business cannot get funding. Other banks and specialist providers have different criteria. Go-Factor helps you compare replacement factoring and invoice discounting facilities, including available cash, total cost and the arrangements for moving.

Don’t flood the market with funding enquiries

You want a clear answer and the right funder. Sending the same enquiry to several brokers and lenders can mean repeated calls, duplicate applications and unnecessary searches.

Start with Go-Factor. We understand your requirement, identify suitable funders and co-ordinate the introductions.

Why are some banks moving away from factoring?

Factoring typically combines funding with credit control and payment collection. Some banks have changed their product strategy or eligibility requirements. A withdrawal can reflect those commercial decisions rather than a problem with your business.

Need someone to chase customer payments? Make that part of the brief. With invoice discounting, your business normally manages its own credit control. A replacement should provide the support you actually need.

What should you compare in a replacement facility?

Go-Factor reviews how the proposed invoice finance facility will work day to day:

CompareWhat matters to your business
Usable cashAdvance rate, approved customers, reserves and limits on funding from one customer.
Total costService fees, minimum fees, funding charges and any additional costs.
Daily supportCredit control, access to your account manager and how quickly decisions are made.
Terms and transferContract length, notice, security, exit charges and settlement of the existing facility.

A useful comparison: a 90% advance against £80,000 of approved invoices releases £72,000 before reserves or other adjustments, even if your total sales ledger is £100,000. Customer approvals matter as much as the headline percentage.

How Go-Factor helps you move

  1. Tell us what has changed. Who funds you now, when does the facility end and how much working capital do you need?
  2. Compare suitable funders. We identify providers, make the introductions and help you understand the proposed funding, costs and terms.
  3. Plan the handover. Once approved, the incoming and outgoing funders agree settlement and transfer arrangements. Go-Factor supports the process through to completion.

Already received notice? Start now. Have your notice letter and latest facility statement to hand if available. Your current agreement, approval and transfer arrangements will determine the timetable.

Bank staying put, but your facility needs to improve?

High fees, restricted funding or poor service are also good reasons for a review. See our guide to switching invoice finance providers.

Your factoring replacement questions

Can I replace a factoring facility my bank is closing?

Yes. UK businesses can apply to another factoring or invoice discounting provider when their bank withdraws a facility. Go-Factor compares suitable funders, the cash available and the transfer requirements. The replacement lender must approve the new facility.

Do I have to move my business bank account?

Not always. Many invoice finance providers can fund a business that banks elsewhere. The provider will explain any collection-account arrangements. Go-Factor checks this before you choose a replacement.

Can I switch from factoring to confidential invoice discounting?

Yes, where the business meets the new provider’s criteria and can manage its own credit control and reporting. If you need help collecting customer payments, factoring may remain the better fit.

Will customers need new payment details?

With disclosed factoring, customers will usually receive instructions about the new provider and where to pay. Confidential facilities work differently. The incoming funder will explain the communication and payment arrangements before transfer.

Can Go-Factor help with CCJs, HMRC arrears or previous losses?

Yes. These circumstances do not automatically rule out invoice finance. Tell Go-Factor the background so we can identify providers willing to assess the business, its customers and its invoices.
